3coast announced that Stephen Sweeney has been appointed chief financial officer and vice president of strategy. As CFO, Sweeney is charged with banking relations, competitive and financial risk analysis and treasury management. In addition to his financial responsibilities, as vice president of strategy, he will help guide 3coast in expanding its business, exploring potential acquisitions and partnerships, as well as extending its service offerings.
Sweeney served as 3coast vice president of sales and marketing from 2003 to 2005. His previous business experience included the founding or co-founding of several Houston-area companies, including Clinic Station, the Clareo Group and Spur Digital. At Computer Associates, he was a senior vice president/general manager of professional services. Prior to Computer Associates, Sweeney directed the growth of information management professional services practices for PLATINUM technology.

Sweeney received his MBA with Academic Excellence from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia. There, Sweeney received the prestigious William Michael Shermet award, given for outstanding academic performance and competitive spirit. Additionally, he was awarded a Batten Entrepreneurial Scholarship and a Frank E. Genovese Fellowship. He has been an active member of the Houston Technology Center, the MIT Forum of Texas and the Greater Houston Partnership’s Emerging Business Council.
